I read here about Humanitas exposing police sex abuse--- Here is some of my story. I am a stalking/electronic harassment survivor and worse, and one of the abuses has consisted of being drugged via my water in a tent, then being out for some time and gang raped, mostly up the behind it seems...I could barely sit, as that kind of sex was new to my body. When I am raped they leave a two dollar coin beside me, and say I am a two dollar slut. Taunt me with those words a lot. Someone, a woman, sadly ( being a feminist it is hard to take)...brags that she is trained in mind-control and smear campaigns, and it is part of what is being done to me. She told me she was there and used a bottle up my behind, and.... "told them how to do it". She named one cop who was there, who I know, and said there were line-ups basically, instructed by her; she prides herself on that sick power. We have over 70 missing women here in the papers, (way more in reality) and a number of them were found on a pig farm dismembered. B.C., CANADA is a cult capital of the world. There is now a trial and the pig farmer is the scapegoat. Rumor has it the police were the last ones to be seen with most of the women. Snuff movies were made—some were skinned—some were fed to the pigs, and the pork sold to the public. etc. It is being made into a sick tabloid in the papers. I do random acts of kindness and advocate in the area, the poorest in the country, and I met the Pickton pig farmer, as he was around there recruiting something. He asked me to go to the farm, as I have a dream of living on a farm. I did not go. They knew though that I had that dream. I am kept below poverty level as part of the abuse, and am reduced to living in a tent.. I have wondered, in the 11 years of mostly in a tent, if there are any organizations or individuals with money that is surplus to help fund me to make more choices in my life than I am now capable of I was also given MCS, from pesticides, and it very much limits my indoor choices. I need more than most to find something to accommodate my disability. I was given this by a Satanist when I lived in Ca., a hi-profile one. Public figure...I know many of them, but did not know they were a cult when I met them. Some feigned love, and I have been made to know this is a common tactic to seduce and use and abuse. Beth Buchanan beth4freedom(bleep)yahoo.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATE LAWS FALLING SHORT OF CURRENT STALKING REALITIES ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Updated Model Stalking Code Aims to Address Growing Use of Technology and Other Menacing Stalking Behaviors Washington, DC – The National Center for Victims of Crime, the nation’s leading advocacy group for crime victims, today released a policy report that calls on states to evaluate the adequacy of their stalking laws and provides model legislation designed to increase stalker accountability and victim safety. The release coincides with this month’s commemoration of National Stalking Awareness Month. The Model Stalking Code Revisited: Responding to the New Realities of Stalking examines and recommends a major update to the original model stalking code, developed in 1993 by the National Institute of Justice at the direction of Congress to encourage states to adopt anti-stalking measures. California enacted the first state stalking law in 1990 in the wake of several high-profile stalking cases involving celebrities, including the 1989 murder of actress Rebecca Schaeffer. Since then, all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the federal government have passed laws criminalizing stalking. According to the National Center, state stalking laws have not kept pace with stalkers who increasingly use sophisticated, yet widely available, technology to track and terrorize their victims. “Unfortunately, many state laws do not reflect this new reality, resulting in stalking behavior that is beyond the reach of the criminal justice system,” said Mary Lou Leary, executive director of the National Center for Victims of Crime. “Our updated model stalking code will provide states with a useful template for closing the loopholes in many existing stalking laws.” In addition to covering stalking by any means, the updated model stalking code reflects a greatly expanded understanding of the nature, impact, prevalence, and severity of stalking in the United States. The National Center report examines key data that was not available when stalking laws were first enacted, including the following: 1.4 million people are stalked annually in the United States One in 12 women and one in 45 men will be stalked at some point in their lives Most victims are stalked by someone they know, not by strangers Surveillance is the most common type of stalking behavior Stalking often escalates to violent behavior and is closely linked to intimate partner violence Despite the attention given to celebrity cases, the vast majority of stalking victims are private citizens -- Revisiting the Model Stalking Code The model stalking code also addresses barriers law enforcement officers and prosecutors often face in bringing stalkers to justice. For example: The burden of proof is so high under many stalking laws that it is extremely difficult to secure convictions. In most jurisdictions, stalking is only a misdemeanor crime, and sentences longer than a few days or weeks are rare. Most stalkers spend a remarkably short time in custody if and when they are arrested, prosecuted, and convicted. Many stalking laws define stalking behavior so narrowly that they exclude the ever-expanding arsenal of high-tech and low-tech methods used by stalkers to torment and harm their victims. Such laws ignore stalking through a wide range of new technological devices, including global positioning systems, spycams, spyware programs, and emails. Also not addressed by many state laws is the wide variability of behaviors that stalkers use to intimidate victims, such as targeting a victim’s family member, sending unwanted gifts and message, or posting private information about the victim in public places. The Model Stalking Code Revisited: Responding to the New Realities of Stalking contains recommended statutory language and an extensive commentary. The accompanying commentary represents a thorough analysis of existing state stalking laws and supportive rationale for adopting the proposed model code language when amending current laws. The report is designed to inform lawmakers, advocates, criminal justice professionals, and other interested parties about the range of legislative options available to them and the impact that legislative language can have as they work to enhance their state’s law. In developing The Model Stalking Code Revisited, the National Center convened a panel of experts of police officers, prosecutors, civil attorneys, judges, victim advocates, law professors, social workers, and researchers to review existing state stalking statutes and define the scope of problems that stalking legislation should address. Never accept automatic updates. Hackers are using them to download nefarious code on your computer. You may locate viruses on your computer by going to start/run and typing in “msconfig” without the quote marks. Click on the startup window and scan through to see what programs are started when you bring your computer up. If you find any that you don’t recognize, go to google and google them. Any viruses will be quickly identified because there will be multiple entries for them. Uncheck them on the startup window. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On The use of Terror And Malicious Misinformation ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reading Paul Trummel's article about the use of false information to discredit someone with an opposing view at http://contracabal.org/301-13-00.html brought to mind some rather unpleasant memories. For example, Adolf Hitler used false information to discredit the Jewish people. This was called propaganda at the time. He needed to do this in order to alienate any relationships between them and other Germans so that he could isolate the Jews, the first step in the process of removing them to ghettos and finally to concentration camps to annihilate them. He sent out goons to destroy the homes and businesses of Jewish citizens on what was called "Krystalnacht", or the night of broken glass. They were given the locations of Jewish businesses and citizens by Nazi officials. Without their businesses and homes, the Jews did indeed become very repulsive, as they had to sell whatever possessions they had left to get food and to find shelter until they were removed. German citizens did not interfere for fear that if they did, they would be targeted next, and the few who did were immediately sent to prison camps which discouraged any others from doing so. Our government, not to be outdone, published a lot of propaganda during WW II itself. One of the strange recollections I have of the war was that at the ripe old age of 7, my teacher in a one room country school two miles south of Aurora, South Dakota, gave all of the students a comic book about the atrocious "Japs" as they were called. It had a lot of pictures of funny, short men in fatigues brutalizing nice boys from Iowa. Their faces were a dark color I had never seen, and they had very slanted eyes I had never seen before, either, and their faces always seemed to be scrunched up into frightening grimaces. There was one, whose name was Hirohito, who was shown screaming and gesturing wildly before a crowd of the same kind of people. Frankly, I was too young to understand what it was all about, it took twenty years before it made any sense to me. It only serves to illustrate that slander or propaganda can take many forms and is apparently used by almost everyone. It seems to me now that our government expected a protracted war in the Pacific in 1943, and was even using propaganda to brainwash school children years before they would be in a position to have any influence. Scary. I'll bet none of those comic books are archived in the Library of Congress or the Smithsonian. I read Miein Kampf by Adolf Hitler a few years ago, he used terror and misinformation in a calculated process of gaining control of the country of Germany, and, he thought, the whole world. Krystalnacht was the opening salvo in his battle of propaganda: "The importance of physical terror against the individual and the masses also became clear to me. "Here, too, we find exact calculation of psychological effect. "The terror in the workshops, in the factory, in the assembly hall, and on occasion of mass demonstrations will always be accompanied by success as long as it is not met by an equally great force of terror." His beliefs were not new but were a part of the continuum reaching back before Martin Luther published his book On The Jews And Their Lies where he says "Therefore be on your guard against the Jews, knowing that wherever they have their synagogues, nothing is found but a den of devils in which sheer self-glory, conceit, lies, blasphemy, and defaming of God and men are practiced most maliciously and veheming his eyes on them." Adolf Hitler approved Luther's approach and quoted him. As the founder and national director of Women Against Sexual Harassment, women who end up at our web site and communicate with me often complain that they cannot find a new job. It seems that their sexual harassment complaints have made their job skills, which seemed in demand before, suddenly without merit. Most don't ever find out what is being said about them or how, a few are able to get evidence of it, but the brotherhood among employers is strong enough so it is almost impossible to track down. After having been an applications programmer and consultant on projects as prestigious as the Justice Information Project for the City of San Francisco's on-line information system and Junior Executive for companies like Macy's California, I suddenly became unemployable in South Dakota, and other than a volunteer project publishing a Comprehensive index of a 60 year old poetry magazine, I have not had a single decent job since. Some women come completely to pieces when this happens, they end up in mental hospitals and homeless. Some get help from families, I was lucky enough to have some resources coming in from time to time, so I made it to retirement age and have to make do with Social Security, which is not enough to live on nor was it ever intended to be. It is just all I have. The use of false information to discredit a person is the easiest way to get rid of them, much less dangerous than murder, and it basically has the same effect. Because most people will not tell the victim what bad things someone is saying about them, it is pretty much fool proof. Not one business that I interviewed for ever told me that they could not hire me because a previous employer had said I stole from them or whatever. When you do not know what people are saying about you, you cannot defend yourself. The people mentioned in Trummel’s article were lucky, they had the chance to defend themselves. Imagine the effect if the same people had started a whispering campaign against them. Hitler went into great detail on how terror and disruption in a society served to help those in charge control the public. I have had real problems with the actions of the current administration with respect to the attack on Iraq. There is ample evidence that many in government were troubled because young Muslim men were taking lessons in how to fly a 747 airplane and warned higher ups about it. I have to wonder if maybe the current resident of the White House wasn't disappointed in his standing in the polls and knew that whenever there was a disaster during the administrations of some former presidents having trouble with their images, the public came to their defense. I can't help but ask if this was not a calculated attempt to improve his image. Add to that the way in which the report from Wilson that the tubes Saddam Hussein had could not be used to make nuclear weapons was intentionally ignored, and his wife's identity as a CIA agent given to the media as a retaliation for him not telling the administration what they wanted to know, which is the spin we are getting from the media. Not able to discredit Wilson because he had been proven to be right, the administration struck out at his wife the only way they could. I feel extreme apprehension that the use of misinformation and the misuse of information are corrupting our government beyond repair. The Constitution can hardly have any validity for individuals whose rights are being trampled on by those in the highest offices misrepresenting the facts and by sexual maniacs intent on making workplaces into brothels. Another quote from Adolf Hitler's MEIN KAMPF is: "If Social Democracy is confronted by a doctrine of greater truthfulness carried out with the same brutality, then the latter will be victorious, though the struggle may be hard." I grew up primarily living in a cult lifestyle; the men were the boss and that was the end of that story. PERIOD. I was never very good at conforming to what others thought I should or should not do or be. We did not know about Sexual Harassment. At my first job, after working for six months for a geezer at a large consulting firm, I was told I would not get a review or raise. When I asked why, as this was routine, I was told that I was a temporary. I was so naive and innocent, but I could get mad! When I asked why I was a temporary, my boss told me that I was a "temporary employee until we made it on the desk." The thought of that man touching me was enough to make me puke and although only 21 years old, and two years out of an abusive marriage, with a baby that I had to care for without ANY help (we were called "displaced homemakers"), I let my boss know that he would be giving me a raise and I would be quitting in two weeks, and if that did not happen, I would have him mopping the floors of this large consulting firm. (I had so much dirt on him!!~lol!~) I was fortunate to have a manager stand with me and against this little geezer, who lost his job entirely and I kept mine! It didn't end then though! Being young and fairly attractive seemed to make my bosses think they could do or say anything to me and I would tolerate it! I tolerated far too much but just like being in a bad marriage, I would manage to get out without causing too much interference with my ability to nurture and properly care for my young daughter. It was enough to warm cockles of the heart of any sexual harassment victim. The segment gave some background on her. Cathy Lanier dropped out of high school to have a baby in her teens, was married briefly, then after a divorce, ended up raising her child as a single parent, working as a waitress and health care worker. She eventually finished high school and got a job for the police force, which was a family profession. Because they offered tuition help, she went to college and graduated, moving up in the police force. She was interviewed and said that when she was working as a cop, sexual harassment was rampant in the Washington, DC police force. It was nothing subtle, it was overt and personal. She eventually sued the department AND WON. What is amazing is that she was able to keep her job and move up to become the police chief. We all take our hats off to Cathy, she is a role model for every sexual harassment victim. It is hoped that there will be more information available on how she managed this coup d’etat. Most women who file sexual harassment complaints lose their jobs. Many are never able to get another job as good as or better than the one they lost. I am seeing a reversal of this trend, I am getting more stories from women who have stood their ground against sexual harassment and won, and it is a delight beyond description to have younger women show me how it should be done. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Who is Ahmadinejad? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Iran's fundamentalists push for segregation on campus Mon. 20 Nov 2006 The Guardian Robert Tait in Tehran Religious fundamentalists in Iran are demanding separate university classes for men and women in a drive to impose puritanical Islamic values on the country's campuses. The call - backed by senior figures close to the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei - comes as new statistics show female students outnumbering their male counterparts in a sharp reversal of traditionally masculine-dominated trends. It is being spearheaded by Hojatoleslam Mohammad Mohamadian, a cleric heading the state body representing Mr Khamenei in the nation's universities. Mr Mohamadian warned in a speech that universities were descending into "fashion shows" and urged chancellors to punish students who breached Islamic rules on dress code and gender-mingling. He demanded segregated classes and the evaluation of faculty members on religious and moral grounds to transform the culture. "At present the public environment of universities is free and the moral situation is offensive," Mr Mohamadian told a gathering of university administrators. "University chancellors are responsible not just for education and research, but for the religion, beliefs and ideas of students. If one or two out of the minority who deface universities are confronted and severely disciplined, the rest will be warned and change their ways." The demand is in line with a clampdown that has seen CCTV surveillance cameras installed on some campuses. Politically active students have been denied access to courses and large numbers of lecturers forced to retire. Two months ago, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad demanded a purge of liberal and secular lecturers. Iran's Islamic laws already require men and women to sit in different rows in classes and lecture halls. Campus libraries, reading rooms, refectories and halls of residences are also segregated. The higher education ministry is resisting further separation as impractical and unnecessary. However, the proposal has strong support from MPs on the influential parliamentary cultural committee. "When the working environment is all-male or all-female, employees and students are liberated from certain distractions," Mousalreza Servati, a committee member, told the ILNA news agency. But she fought back and took her complains all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. Gloria J. Williams- Sexually assaulted by a civilian while she was enlisted. She suffered with anxiety, depression, and nightmares. She attempted to cope with alcohol, but that only added to her problems. She was hospitalized numerous times and engaged in self-mutiliation. She was so overwhelmed by her symptoms her husband divorced her and she gave up custody of her children. She became depressed and suffered with overwhelming anxiety and nightmares. She developed a drinking problem and obsessive/compulsive disorder. Rachel-Sexually abused as a child by her stepfather then sexually abused by a series of military superiors she is confused and guilty about what role she played in the events. Raymond D. (spouse of Annie) Abused as a child he is twice gang raped in the military. These events lead him to years of alcohol abuse and failed marriages. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bystander Apathy — Dateline NBC ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On March 7, Dateline NBC had a special about this subject, with a person known as “Wild Bill” as the featured guest. A former policeman who had to leave the force because of an injury, he started a business as a private detective. Eventually, he found himself a celebrity when he started to expose how crooks operate on various television programs. In this case, he cooperated with Dateline and various police departments to show how crooks can operate openly without being reported to law enforcement. He broke into vehicles in view of a commuter stop, fifteen people saw what was happening, only three reported it. He broke into houses in broad daylight putting a ladder up to an open upstairs window as neighbors watched, he moved items from the house into his vehicle and although neighbors who were friends to the victims watched, nobody reported it. He even told people in the area that he was robbing the residents. He got entry to hotel rooms from New York to Las Vegas with a simple ruse. He approached children in playgrounds, with less success. Girls did not walk but ran away from him when he tried to get them near his car, and another girl herded her younger brother inside when he approached them. Some boys were less savvy and were lured to the trunk of his car. This was described by the FBI as “bystander apathy” People do not want to get involved. They have nice homes, good jobs, their kids are in good schools and will be looking for jobs in a few years, and they know that if they interfere, they may be targeted in reprisal. What Dateline did not say is that this is exactly the mentality that is at work when a woman reports sexual harassment, when an employee reports illegal activities by their employers or government, or when someone reports stalking. Even law enforcement, medical and dental and other professionals are afraid to get involved, and family members are often refuse to support a victim. They all just cover their own asses and leave the victim to be crucified. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WASH Elections in May ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WASH has a continuing need for volunteers to serve on the board of directors and as officers. Some areas where WASH could use some help are in the compilation of bylaws, which we have not yet approved. We have a couple of bylaws of other non-profits, both of which have gotten non-profit status with the IRS, to build on, and anyone who has the time to devote to this task which will surely be considerable, should let us know soon, as we need to take this step to formalize our status. We need someone to work on non-profit status. I am pretty much committed to publishing the newsletter and whenever I can, to maintaining the web site. Due to computer problems, it has been months since I have been able to make changes to it. I also would like to put a section on our website for visitors to get suggestions for victims of sexual harassment. This would bypass the possibility that hackers will interfere, and get the information directly to the victim.
