She was sharing a room with her younger brother when some man entered through her bedroom window, held a knife to her brother's throat and told her if she screamed, he'd kill him. He raped her. As most children, she was too confused to talk about what had happened to her; most 10 year old girls, haven 't had any kind of verbal conversation about sex from their parents or anywhere else at that time. Beth is white; she comes from a low income family. Her abuser threatened to kill her and her brother after the rape, should she say a word. He never returned; but Beth's life was no more. She had no interest in dolls, or playing house--things you might think I little girl would still be interested in. Beth changed--a lot. She pierced her face, all over (nose, chin, eye brows, five places in each ear)...she wears baggy, men like clothes and her hygiene is, well questionable. Since I went through a period like letting the hygiene go myself after attempted rapes; I know why she did it--to keep them at bay. Beth is very smart. She suffers from seizures. The chance of a child with a disability being raped is twice the rate of children without disabilities. View these statistics from the Rape Prevention Education Site: Rape Affects Everyone Around the world at least 1 in 3 women has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime. Most often the abuser is a member of her own family. (John Hopkins School of Public Health 2000) 77% of rapes are committed by someone known to the person raped. (Bureau of Justice Statistics 1997) According to the National Victim Center, 683,000 women are raped each year. (1992) Only 2% of rapists are convicted and imprisoned. (US Senate Judiciary Committee 1993) 6 out of 10 rapes are reported by victims to have occurred in their own home or home of a friend, relative or neighbor. (US Dept. of Justice 1997) At High Risk In a 1999 longitudinal study of 3,000 women, researchers found women who had been victimized before were seven times more likely to be raped again. (Acierno, Resnick, Kilpatrick, Saunders and Best, Jnl. of Anxiety Disorders 13, 6.) Women with disabilities are raped and abused at twice the rate of the general population. (Sobsey 1994) Women reporting a combined childhood history of physical and sexual abuse report the highest rape rates. It illustrates one case out of DOZENS, from what is one of the world's most hostile work environments; federal agencies. It shows what can happen and what does happen to federal employees who are handicapped and who try to get some type of protection to keep their jobs. These deaths, numbering a hundred or more, are truly outrageous. I personally know about the Maxine Trujillo case and 5 other cases which are similar in nature. I have heard, from other federal employees and former feds, about many, many other cases like this. These cases all come under the heading of NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE. Please read about the shocking case of former federal civilian employee, Maxine Trujillo. The MAXINE TRUJILLO case, from Kirtland AFB, in 1999, is far worse than the cases from other federal agencies. The case summary for Maxine is in the attached document. It is about 15 pages long. It is a terrible case of gross NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE by a "mob" of management evildoers at Kirkland AFB, who ganged up on an overweight lady who had a severe handicap, and who asked for "reasonable accommodations" Did they accommodate her??? HELL NO!! They killed her!! [Request copy of case file from John directly] The case and the more recent Byrne case (former postal employee in Denver), and dozens of others, prove substantially that managers and supervisors at ALL federal agencies are engaged in NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE, literally killing employees (with stress and abusive behavior) AND getting away with it. Rather than being jailed for their crimes, the evil managers and supervisors are being defended by U.S. attorneys working for the DOJ, who are sworn to uphold the law and prosecute crimes. These U.S. attorneys are providing the defense for these killers at NO cost, courtesy of the taxpayers. U.S. attorneys have the task of prosecuting criminals, and NOT defending them. But, inside of fed land, regarding abuses against federal employees, the U.S. attorneys are doing just the opposite!! This story is screaming out for attention. Only 60 MINUTES, by running this story, can change the extreme hostile environment which has existed in all federal agencies for the past 30 years! Only then, will free legal representation for the federal agency criminals be ended. Hemlock St Oxnard, CA 93035 805-985-0273 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nursing Home Abuse ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As an employee of the Dept. of Human Services in the 70's, I worked specifically for the elderly unit. Reports of sexual abuse, at the nursing homes was a frequent flyer. One of the most insidious forms of nursing home abuse is sexual abuse; and, it's on the rise since the creation of erectile dysfunction prescription drugs. Sexual abuse is any form of non-consensual sexual contact including: inappropriate touching, sexually explicit photographing/recording, sexual harassment, rape, sodomy where the victim is tricked, forced, coerced or manipulated into unwanted sexual contact. Our elderly are often helpless, and abuse in nursing homes is one of the most unreported crimes in our nation. Sexual abuse and the increase of STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) has reached epidemic levels in our nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Sometimes, nursing homes fail to do background checks on employees and that may lead to an abusive employee. Since most nursing homes are co-ed and frequently understaffed, lack of proper supervision of all the residents, or even strangers walking into the facility is not uncommon. STDs are typically associated with younger people; however, with the little 'blue pills', those old statistics no longer hold true. There has been a marked increase in the number of elderly who contract STDs in nursing homes/assisted living type facilities. According to www.examiner.com, 1 in 6 Americans have genital herpes. Elderly, frequently do not wear condoms and have more than one partner. They are already at a disadvantage, as their immune system naturally becomes less effective as they age. Thus, there is an increase in the risk of STDs. After menopause, the woman's vaginal tissues thin and the natural lubricant decreases. This dryness can lead to tissue tears which increase the likelihood of transmission of certain STDs such as HIV/AIDS. How to recognize possible sexual abuse: 1) The resident has a fear reaction when someone in particular enters the room; 2) Bruising on the inner thighs, genital area or breasts; 3) Unexplained difficulty in walking or sitting; 4) Blood on bedding or bed clothing; 5) Patient/resident having a sexually transmitted disease. If your loved one shows any signs, contact a lawyer, the Dept. of Social Services, make a police report (be sure there is an investigation), have them tested for STDs, but, most importantly, move your loved one immediately. Aunt Bea catfishwithlips(bleep)yahoo.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Charlotte’s Story ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Charlotte and I met about 17 years ago. She had been the sex object of a man, 20 years her senior, whom I consider filth, not particularly rich; but, certainly better off financially than Charlotte. He had made it clear to Charlotte, it was just about sex: he didn't want a commitment, he could use someone to clean his house and provide free sex, but most of all, he didn't want children! Charlotte was living in the slum area of a nearby town in Colorado. She never seemed to work, except at a house cleaning job, here or there, for cash. Needless to say, it wasn't long before Charlotte deliberately got herself pregnant. To think she'd want to link herself up with this 'man', to me, is just disgusting...but, to her, it was a step up. Arguments became the norm, when he found out she had gotten herself pregnant. She moved out, now able to get assistance from social services and other agencies that would take care of her. She was an expectant mother now. After the birth of the baby, a beautiful little girl, Charlotte and her child were able to get child support from the father. Then, one night, upon returning home to her apartment late, Charlotte smelled something, she thought, perhaps gas/propane. She feel asleep, as did the baby. Charlotte's mother was supposed to see her early, the following morning...and when Charlotte didn't answer the phone, she went to the house. Charlotte and the baby were overcome with carbon monoxide. (This was later just considered a tragic flaw in the heating system.....right!) Charlotte suffered severe carbon monoxide poisoning, making her what the doctor would call bi-polar now; her daughter, is practically a living vegetable. Her 'school education' is basic living skills, trying to teach her to shop for herself, trying to teach her to handle money...her daughter will be in a group home, with others like herself as she ages. It was a shock to me, that Charlotte said the school was concerned whether her daughter could reproduce and sent her for tests, to make sure she could have babies! Oh yes, this girl, who cannot possibly ever take care of herself---is supposed to give birth to children! I couldn't believe the school had such authority and what is their concern with that little girl's reproductive system in the first place? Neither Charlotte nor her daughter (who is far worse off then Charlotte) will ever become anything in society. They will not work, they will not pay taxes, they will only be a burden to those who do work, have worked, who pay taxes, who've paid taxes. Charlotte's mother has several properties. I expect, that once Charlotte and her mother are out of the picture, the properties will become the property of someone else, very shortly after the little girl, 'inherits' them. This is a really long story; this is only an introduction to Charlotte and her family. So, so sad. Charlotte currently rents a four-plex, in a low income housing district downtown. She's incapable of driving a car; as I indicated earlier, she had severe carbon monoxide poisoning due to a 'leaking heater"...right! Charlotte rides an adult tricycle, and basically relies on others to take her to places she can't access with her bicycle or if the weather is bad. Bare with me, as this is all tied together. The absolute length, planning, conniving, the filth will go to, to get to someone they have targeted, is absolutely on the brink of unreality. Yet, it is quite clear, the filth have, indeed done so...so, please read on. When my husband and I were lured to Ohio in the spring of 2005, my youngest son, who suffers from ADHD, moved in with Charlotte, in Colorado. He performed all the household chores: cleaning, cooking, laundry, tutoring Charlotte's retarded daughter in homework assignments, making sure Charlotte's daughter was up for school, dressed, fed and on the school bus (while Charlotte slept in ‘til noon). My son also gave her cash each month (she insisted on cash) for rent and to help with groceries and other expenses. My son, who had a car (which was constantly vandalized at Charlotte's four-plex --perhaps to strand him there?), was used in every capacity possible by Charlotte; and, then, she used him, to use us. Meanwhile, in Ohio, we continued to be victims of: stalking, theft, harassment, slander campaigns and even physical injury. Their 'standard procedure' not only continued for us in Ohio; but, escalated at the home of my daughter. Moving only changes the faces of those performing crimes against you. In our opinion, you may as well live where you know who the filth are, where they live, and in a place where you can stage some kind of defense for yourselves. My husband, an ex-military man, agrees, "It's better to know the face of your enemy." In January, 2006, we couldn't take it anymore...we left, during a snow storm, and returned to our home in Colorado. When we reached the town where my son was staying with Charlotte, we picked them all up (even her daughter) and brought them out to our home, in the mountains. My information about charlotte is written in hindsight. Let's face it--hindsight is 20/20! When Charlotte first came through the door, she gasped, ohed and ahed--she was awed, she couldn't hide it. We have a big home, with murals, and custom paint (I painted)--clearly, "all the stuff" she couldn't take her eyes off things. Her eyes spoke more words than her lips ever could. As we eventually convinced our son to leave Charlotte, and return home, to our now-vandalized- home--she actually foamed at the mouth in anger. Even my son said, "she scared the crap out of me mom". I went to town and would still take Charlotte to lunch, to coffee, to shop--to try to pump information out of her. I wasn't completely convinced of her loyalties to either side at that time; but, I'd soon find out, for sure, the hard way. By Jan., 2007, another son planned to marry. As a series of unfortunate events unfolded or fell into place, we didn't have anyone to trust to take care of our home and pets when the special occasion arrived. We turned to Charlotte. $100 cash, food and a comfortable environment was more than she could make in weeks...for one day/night of service. And, she didn't have to spread her legs to get it — honest work! We hired Charlotte as our house/pet sitter. An unexpected, snowstorm stranded us in town. Odd, the weatherman indicated it would be clear! I knew something wasn't right when we made our way home, early the next morning--Charlotte couldn't wait to leave. She was nervous, antsy and appeared to be biting at the bit to get out of our home. Exhausted, it wasn't ‘til later that I noticed all of my expensive clothing and every piece of jewelry was gone! We did notify the police. There was a hand print right on our bedroom glass sliding door; it was somewhat smeared. The local authorities indicated it was too 'smeared' to get a print and didn't bother trying. I gave the authorities Charlotte's address, phone number and personal information; but, that was a waste of time, as I found out later, they never even called her. By the way, our bedroom door had been locked when we left the house. Charlotte later bragged around town, that "I had it good for a while". She was also seen, with multiple expensive rings on each finger of each hand (a bit like Ringo)... Charlotte told everyone she had a freezer full of steaks; that her retarded daughter had a new twin sized bunk bed and mattresses; and that she herself, had a brand new sleep number bed. Clearly these were the 'price' for betraying me and my family. Charlotte is poor white trash. She is still looking for a man to come and do everything for her. Unfortunately, her figure and looks left long ago! Her daughter, now in high school, can barely print her own name. Charlotte will inherit her mother's property at some point--or, should Charlotte, who is now of no use to the filth, tragically have an accident--her retarded daughter will inherit property from her grand mother. Sexual harassment, slander campaigns, thefts, vandalism, are all used to get people to move away from their property. In the old days, this was called 'land grabs'...today, it is the same. Land grabbing is happening all around us. This is, in my opinion, the eventual goal of a segment of our greedy society. Take as much property/land as they can, as quick as they can. I am 60, Pisces, feminist, bi-sexual, poet, writer, photographer, actor, nature lover, animal lover. I love children and babies. I am from the Maritimes. I grew up in a poor neighborhood. My father was a socialist, my mother was a humanitarian. I hitch-hiked out here to Vancouver in the early 70's, a hippie. I lived in the United States for a decade and got to know a number of people in the" Entertainment Industry". This mostly wreaked havoc on my life. Abuse stories untold. It is an unreal and quite insane "world". I still recover from it . In my older age I would like to travel and see as much of the planet as possible. My dream is to own an organic farm, and have many children run free. I have had this dream since I was a teen. A dream of a dozen children of all races. I long to do a docu video and call it "NOBODY HIT YOU". LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO DO IT WITH? NOBODY HIT YOU How insidious violence against women can be. Many moons ago I was in a group for battered women. At that time , as now, it was emotional battering . No proof, no bruises..… Abusers are often far too capable of convincing potential allies that the abused is the abuser (or "crazy") ! The first time I was abused this way, I caught it within weeks. It was clear to me that my self esteem was being diminished and that I was questioning my own perceptions and sanity. One tactic clearly used was reality distortions. This is sometimes coined as "gas-lighting", from an old movie in which a husband was convincing his wife the gas light on the street, (outside the window), was on when it was off and vice versa. At times I felt I was losing my mind . I was exhausted and barely functioning. In the women’s group I was in ( In California), I learned about the "red flags" to be aware of. In my present situation I saw them immediately. It is truly a tragedy how poverty keeps us somehow unable to extricate ourselves from the dilemma. I was much younger and employed the first time. I felt I could make more choices. Felt more empowered. Age and illness contribute to this sense of helplessness, as well. Add the hate accompanying the homophobia to the equation. It is quite frightening how much ignorance and lack of tolerance still exists. Perhaps the general public need be more informed about the many guises abuse and abusers have. There are so many possible scenarios . . . In the house I now subsist in I endure abuse from three men. There is as well a "daughter of patriarchy" who supports them. (We, as feminists, coined that term in the 70's, I think) Ageism, classism, sexism, homophobia prevails as poignant elements. More than one area of "Hate" crimes. All is minimized , denied or projected, in typical batterer script. There are mind games, smears, stalking and sabotage. I have been told "everybody hates you", you are a psycho" (by the psycho), "an ugly old bitch" ( I am 60), " a whore" ( I am celibate a long time, and if I wasn't it would be no one’s business), and much, much more. This astounds me, since most of my life I have been known as a loving, honest and gentle person, with great compassion and wisdom. People come to me for advise and healing. It is also frightening how abuse and name calling can camouflage these attributes. The gas lighting also wreaks havoc on who I really am.. It has been a year I have dealt with this abuse. I want me back. It has taken such a toll on me that people believe them not me. Christmas day I was clinically depressed for the first time in my life. I could not move out of bed, and barely responded to the overtures of people at the door, telling me there was a party in my honor for the good work I have done in the DES for a decade, (the poorest postal code in the country.) CBC came to try to get me to come, since they organized it. Abusers were screaming " she doesn't deserve it" and worse. This is a statement of what abuse can do to a good person. I could not get out of bed to go. I had nightmares that I was so ugly I could not look in the mirror. In my youth, people like Leonard Cohen fell in love with me due to my inner and outer beauty. I need to write a book, any takers to help me with it? I cry as I type this knowing what has been done to me, and yet, to this day the abusers say it is me, AND ARE BELIEVED ! I stood on the bridge to jump, I was so defeated by how they networked the lies to friends and social life. How do they do it? How do they cultivate so much control? How many women are finally convinced the abusers really do know them better than they know themselves ? How many women kill themselves or harm themselves in self-loathing? I LOVE MYSELF. How many women question if they are really a bad person. I worked hard for a long time to have a sense of healthy self love, and to heal my past abuse. Now, in that abusive shared house , it is inferred that I do not "work for money" so I do not "deserve". This is classism. Mayhap it is more important to question what REAL work is? I want to reclaim the power stolen from me by those who have no idea who I am. I want to know there is power in numbers to counteract it. ALLIES PLEASE STAND UP and be counted.!!! On its October 2 program, America’s Most Wanted program, all of the stories were about violence against women. On September 7, 2010, KELO news in Sioux Falls had a story on its 10:00 news about a program being implemented in the Sioux Falls Public School system to discourage bullying. Children have to sign a contract promising not to bully other children, and if they see some other child being bullied, to report it to their teacher or parent. CHEATERS is a reality program Sunday nights on the CW about spouses and fiancées who are not faithful to their partners. I did write to them a year or two ago about possibly doing a similar program about sexual harassment, bullying, and stalking, but never heard back from them. However, recently they have advertised a web site for victims of bullying, http://www.iaccuse.com. Because sexual harassment almost always involves bullying or stalking or both, I encourage anyone who has a story to go to the website and let them know about you. They may be somewhat limited as to geography, as Cheaters is in the Dallas, Texas area, but like the lottery, you never win if you never play.
